Day 2- Attack Phase- 25th April 2012

I have been waking up quite late these days (examination period at my university) so I have been eating brunch instead of breakfast


  • 1 cup of green tea 
  • 3 glasses of water 
  • 75%  large Basa fillet with spices (no salt)
I did not enjoy the fish so I gave the rest to my mom :P 
  • 1 table spoon of oat bran 
Oat bran(30g): 
  • Calories: 120 calories 
  • Fat: 2.5g 
  • Sodium: 0mg
  • Fibre: 4g
  • Protein: 5g
  • Carbohydrates: 20g
Basa filet(300g): 
  • Calories: 270 calories 
  • Fat: 10.5 g 
  • Sodium: 150mg 
  • Carbohydrate: 0g 
  • Protein: 45g 
  • 2 large piece of oven roasted chicken breast cold-cut slice (44g):
  • Calories: 60 calories 
  • Fat: 1g
  • Sodium: 200mg
  • Carbs: 1.6g
  • Protein: 8g

  • 1 sugar free strawberry jell-o 
  • 1 baked salmon fillet 
Strawberry Jell-o
  • Sugar: 0g 
  • Carbs: 0g 
  • Protein: 1g 
  • Fat: 0g 
  • Calories: 5 calories 
Salmon Fillet
  • Fat: 4.5g (but the good kind of fat :D)
Note: Although I am not hungry at all, I almost lunged at a cake my mother brought home from work  :/
Thankfully I resisted because I know that once I stop, I have a snowball's chance in hell of starting again. 
I  definitely took the advice of some other bloggers and ran to the grocery store and bought some sugar free jell-o. I need something sweet. I also purchased salmon fillets so I had a really good dinner.
I think took was more balanced then yesterday's menu.


  1. Sounds like a good day! Thats the great thing about Dukan, you really dont feel hungry if you stick to it. I constantly have to remind myself to eat enough.
    My oatbran has just under 15g of carbs per 30g serving. I wouldnt worry about carb content too much as long as you are under 60g's of carbs per day you will be in ketosis - it just depends how fastidious you want to be about it all.
    Jell-O do a massive range of sugar free jello products and desserts, just watch if you get some of their desserts as they have other ingredients that aren't allowed on Dukan.

  2. Im so glad you addressed that! I was starting to feel like I was doing something wrong when I did not feel as hungry as I usually feel.
    So as long as I am under 60g of carbs, I will be in ketosis? That's great. Did your receive any of the unpleasant side-effects of the process?
    and yay! for jell-o. I love strawberry jell-o, I will definitely look into buying the sugar-free variety after 8 1/2 days ;D

    1. I've been quite lucky as far as side effects go, just bad breath and stronger smelling urine (hope that's not too graphic! :-/) I know some people get headaches /dizziness/nausea. 30g of carbs or less is called a ketogenic diet but upto 60g's is what Atkins calls the critical point for staying in ketosis. Everyone has different tolerance levels though so you'll have to see what works for you. Hope that helps : D
